2 men arrested on rape charges in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

Two men from Tuscaloosa have been arrested on rape charges involving a 14-year-old victim in both cases.

Juvenile investigators with the Tuscaloosa Police Department arrested the men on Friday, Sept. 28 on felony charges.

Suspect Antonie Dewayne Powell, 30, is charged with second degree rape and second degree sodomy against a victim who police say was 14 years old at the time of the incident. Police say the incident happened in the 4400 block of Virginia Drive during May of 2012.

Powell is being held on a $20,000 bond in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.

Investigators also arrested suspect Jordan Darius Murphy, 21, on a second degree rape charge. Police say the incident happened during April 2012 in the 4000 block of Highpoint Drive. The victim in this case was also 14 years old at the time of the incident, according to police.

Murphy is being held on a $10,000 bond in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
