The Etowah County Sheriff's Office says they have arrested two suspects in connection to a theft related offense.
39-year-old Tyler Lee Bentley and 29-year-old William Allen Hyfield both face one count of 3rd degree burglary and one count of 2nd degree theft of property. Both are felonies.
Investigators believe Bentley and Hyfield broke into a residence on Highway 431 near Attalla on Wednesday, September 26. They allegedly stole two guns, a 42 inch television and a laptop at the residence. Police say Hyfield pawned the two guns at a Guntersville shop on the same day.
A relative to the victim passed by the residence and called the homeowner to report suspicious activity. The victim called 911 to report the burglary.
During the burglary, the suspects allegedly backed up a vehicle to the residence. Police say the vehicle did not belong to either of them.
Investigators say both suspects have admitted to stealing items from the home. Some items have not been recovered.
Both suspects are being held in the Etowah County Detention Center. Hyfield is being held on a $5,000 bond and Bentley is being held on a $40,000 cash bond. At the time of the burglary, Bentley had been out on bond for a similar crime.
