Fourteen volunteers from the United Arab Emirates are building a home for Habitat for Humanity in Tuscaloosa as part of a national social volunteering program.
Two diplomats and UA grads from the UAE embassy in Washington D.C. helped organize the effort to bring these volunteers to Tuscaloosa.
One of them talked about building a home for a tornado survivor.
"It is a priceless feeling to give people a home. An even better home, they can own their home. As the mayor said, most of them were renting their home. They can own their home which is a priceless feeling I cannot describe," volunteer Mohamed Alshater said.
These volunteers also spent time Joplin, Missouri rebuilding homes for tornado victims there.
