
Virginia College will offer free health tests and information at a community health fair planned for Saturday, Oct. 6.
People who attend the fair will be able to get free blood pressure, cholesterol and HIV tests, and seated massages. Attendees will have the chance to taste test recipes from Culinard, Virginia College's culinary school.
The fair is free and open to the public. It will last from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Virginia College Campus located at 488 Palisades Blvd in Birmingham.
"We are excited to host a community health fair here at Virginia College," Campus President Chris Moore said in a release. "This fair is a great opportunity for the public to examine their own health while also learning how to help others become healthy as well."
Some of the participating organizations include: AIDS Alabama, Positive Maturity, YWCA/Americorps, KidOne Transport, Viva Medicare, Exchange Club, and the Jefferson County Department of Health.
