The movies are free and open to the public, and it's bring-your-own-seating style, which could be a lawn chair, blanket or just a soft spot on the grass. Organizers suggest showing up to the park early to get a good place on the lawn in front of the screen.
Sunset Cinema at Railroad Park will feature movies each Thursday night during October starting at 7 p.m. The schedule is as follows:
Oct. 4: The Hunger Games
Oct. 11: The Princess Bride
Oct. 18: Red Tails
Oct. 25: Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds"
Railroad Park is located in downtown Birmingham at 1600 1st Avenue South. For more information, visit www.RailroadPark.org.
