GARDENING CHEF - Birmingham Botanical Gardens welcomes renowned chef and author Alex Hitz to the Red Diamond Lecture and Luncheon. While the lecture has become a regular part of Birmingham's premier antiques show, Antiques at The Gardens, this year guests can purchase tickets to dine with our speaker, sharing recipes from his new book, "My Beverly Hills Kitchen: Classic Southern Cooking with a French Twist." The lecture will begin at 10:30 a.m., while the luncheon will follow at 12:30p.m. The event kicks off a national book tour for Hitz, who has recently been featured in the Wall Street Journal and Vanity Fair. ATROX GUEST - Atrox Factory opens tonight in Leeds. It is closed on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays until the week of Halloween. Most nights the Factory Tour is $18 and on weekends when special guests are on hand there is also a $5 fee at the gate. Atrox does not charge for parking. They except cash only. Arrive early and expect long lines - especially on the weekends. It runs from 6:30-10:30pm on Thursday and Sunday nights and 6:30pm-midnight on Friday and Saturday. SINGER - Twelve year old Christian Blevins has recorded a cd - "He's The One". He performed his new song - "How Can I Say Thank You." Christian recently shared his talents as a singer during The Mission Hugs Gospel Music Extravaganza. He is a 7th grade student at Pleasant Grove Middle School and a member of The Magic City Boys and Girls Choir under the direction of Joe Jenkins.
