Prissilio Dancy, Jr. is charged with having a "hoax device or replica of a weapon of mass destruction" and "making terrorist threats."
Authorities say Dancy left the package at an admissions desk at the Tuscaloosa VA Thursday afternoon. The hospital was temporarily evacuated due to the possible bomb threat
The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office bomb squad used a robot to remove the package. It was then detonated at a rock quarry.
Dancy is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a bond of $65,000.
