Birmingham fire officials are investigating a blaze that started from an SUV and jumped to an apartment. It happened just before 3 a.m. on the 5200 block of 1st Avenue North.
Authorities say a fire broke out in a Ford Explorer parked outside of the unit then quickly spread. The apartment was heavily damaged.
No one was injured.
There is no word on what caused the fire.
