Source: WBRC videoThe man who lost Fairfield's mayoral runoff is asking for a recount.
Councilman Frederick Scott lost to incumbent Mayor Kenneth coachman by 35 votes. Scott received 954 votes. Coachman got 989 votes.
Scott says he noticed some voting irregularities during the primary election in August. He filed a complaint with the state Attorney General's office but hasn't heard anything back.
Scott says yesterday he noticed some of the same irregularities, so he's challenging the results.
"I know one case with District One, you had a person who voted in the primary in August at the police and fire station. On the runoff he voted at CJ McDonald," Scott said.
Fox 6 News tried to contact Mayor Coachman several times, but he didn't return our phone calls.
Scott says he has five days to file for a recount.
