Three structure fires in Walker County have left fire crews wondering.
Lt. Mark Pendley with the Saragossa Fire Department say the first fire started around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday. Crews were able to put the blaze out when they got a call about another fire. At the scene of that fire, they noticed a barn across the street was in flames.
Pendley says he believes the fires to be the work of an arsonist or the result of drug activity in the abandoned homes. He says none of the structures had any electricity.
According to Pendley, two home and two sheds caught fire in a nearby area two weeks ago. The fire marshal is investigating those fires. The Walker County Sheriff's Office has been called in to investigate the new fires.
