Gadsden man arrested on rape charge
Calvin Michael Sims. Source: Etowah County Sheriff's OfficeA Gadsden man has been arrested and charged with rape, the Etowah County Sheriff's Office reports.
Calvin Michael Sims, 52, is charged with one count of first degree rape, which is a felony, according to Investigator Haydyn Hedgspeth.
The sheriff's office says the incident allegedly happened at a residence in the Tidmore Bend community on Saturday, Sept. 29. Sims and his victim were acquainted with each other.
He is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.
