Smith is accused of killing Haylee Burks when he allegedly ran into her, her mother and younger sister while they were walking beside the street.A Tuscaloosa County grand jury has indicted a man accused of killing an 8-year-old girl.
Danny Smith faces charges of vehicular homicide, assault and leaving the scene of an accident. Smith is accused of striking 8-year-old Haylee Burks, her 3-year-old sister and their 28-year-old mother.
The incident happened on March 31 on 5th Street in Northport when Haylee and her family were walking on the shoulder of the street after the Tuscaloosa Regional Air Show.
Smith allegedly struck all three of them.
