BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

A Birmingham woman is fighting for her life after a car hit her Wednesday morning and kept going.

Police say a black female was struck by a vehicle on 65th Street North and 4th Avenue North in Woodlawn, just east of the airport, around 6:45 a.m.

The victim was transported to UAB Hospital for life-threatening injuries.

Police say the incident is a hit-and-run. They have one witness and are asking more people to come forward with information.
