Chilton Medical Center. Source: WBRC videoA hearing to determine whether the Chilton Medical Center should have its license revoked has been cancelled.
The Alabama Department of Public Health says that they have settled the matter through a "consent agreemend." The hospital will remain closed, but its license will remain effective until Dec. 21, 2012. This is presumably to help the currently license holders, Clanton Hospital, LLC., to find a new operator.
The hospital's license was supended Oct. 29 by the ADPH, who cited "deficiencies, including the hospital's inability to meet financial obligations, and failure to have an effective governing authority" as the reason for suspension.
