77-year-old woman robbed in parking lot in Gadsden

The Gadsden Police Department says they are investigating the robbery of a 77-year-old woman in the parking lot of Johnson's at 600 Walnut Street.

On Thursday afternoon, the woman told officers she was retrieving her purse from the trunk of her car when she was approached by three males from behind. She says one attacker shoved her very hard and took her purse before all three men ran away.

A Gadsden police officer located the victim's purse a few blocks away and found that only her cash was missing.

The investigation is ongoing.
