The FBI announced that they have added an Alabama man to their Most Wanted Terrorists list.
Omar Shafik Hammami, 28, is a U.S. citizen is involved in the designated foreign terrorist organization, al-Shabaab. He is reportedly a senior leader of this insurgency group that operates in Somalia.
The FBI says that Hammami traveled to Somalia in 2006 and subsequently joined al-Shabaab's military wing.
Hammami was indicted in the U.S. on various terrorism charges, including providing material support to terrorists. The Southern District of Alabama has an active arrest warrant for Hammami but he is believed to be in Somalia.
