
Chicken Tikka – Loosely translated to mean "Chunks of Chicken", this dish is prepared by marinating the chicken pieces in a blend of spice mixture and fresh yogurt. One can cook the chicken by using this recipe in an Oven, Grill or Tandoor (Clay oven).
INGREDIENTS
2 lb Boneless Chicken
½ teaspoon Turmeric
1 teaspoon Red chili Powder
½ teaspoon Anis seeds
½ cup yogurt
½ cup milk
1 tbsp Lemon juice
Salt to taste.
Mint Leaves
Cilantro leaves
Spinach Leaves (optional)
In a bowl combine yogurt, lemon juice,milk with coarsely grounded spice mixture. Season with salt to taste.
Cut the chicken into bite size pieces and mix thoroughly with the marinade, keep over night in refrigerator.
Put the chicken on skewers if using Tandoor to cook or you can cook on grill on low heat.
At home you can heat the oven to 200 F. Put chicken pieces in a baking dish and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked thoroughly and is browned on the edges. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve with wedges of lemon.
