Beer school ended Friday for some 30 employees of the new World
of Beers located in Birmingham's Five Points South.
The bar will open Tuesday. Friday, employees were getting last minute training about their product which
includes some 50 different beers on tap and some 500 different bottled
beverages.
"It's two weeks of intense training that all of our employees
have to go through to work here starting with the GM on down. Learn everything
there is about craft beer, how it is made, the styles, the breweries.
They all will be experts by the time they finish the class," Sam Downing,
General Manager said.
The Five Points South World of
Beers represents a national chain and more than a million dollar-investment
into Birmingham.
