JACKSONVILLE, AL (WBRC) -

Jacksonville's City Council is discussing how to issue permits for food trucks in a meeting held Monday night.

City officials say they've gotten requests from 20 food truck vendors to operate there. So far, the city has not issued any permits because the city doesn't have a clear law governing the trucks.

The council is looking over a proposed ordinance which would set permits at $500.

It also restricts things like noise levels and where the truck can operate in Jacksonville.
