Source: MGN OnlineNo one enjoys waiting in those security lines at the airport but according to TSA, there are things we all can do to ease some of the frustration and stress.
1) Bring unwrapped gifts on your trip
If a gift sets off an alarm, security officers may have to take a look inside. Its recommended that you wrap your gifts after you pass security or ship them ahead of time, to avoid having to open them during the screening process.
2) Food subject to extra screening
You can bring pies and cakes through the security checkpoint, but please be advised that they are subject to additional screening.
3) Pack electronics on top
Pack large electronics on the top layer of your carry on bag so you can get to it easily if necessary.
4) Check My TSA app
You can check out the My TSA mobile app for access to information you need to get through security and on the plane safely.
5) Call toll free helpline
Travelers can also call 1-855-787-2227 toll free with questions about screening policies and procedures.
Always remember to allow for extra time and remove everything from your pockets before going through the security checkpoint. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
