Court appearance for Pelham triple murder suspect pushed back

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

A man accused of killing three people in Pelham was scheduled to appear in court today, but the judge pushed it back.

Jon Staggs,, Jr. 20, is accused of shooting three men in the Chandalar neighborhood in Septemebr.

Police identified the victims as 22-year-old Joshua Smith, 19-year-old Simeon Gilmore and 22-year-old Casey Cumberland.

All three men were killed at Smith's parents' home. The victims' families say the killing was over a 40 dollar drug debt.

Staggs' court appearance will be held in the first part of 2013.
