TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

Alabama head coach Nick Saban says his team is responsible for creating the opportunity they have in facing Georgia in the SEC Championship game.

"This game is a great opportunity for our players that they created for themselves," said Saban in his Monday press conference.

The coach says that he is proud of the way his players competed in this past Saturday's Iron Bowl, where the Tide clenched the SEC West after beating Auburn. Now, Alabama faces the Georgia Bulldogs for the SEC title and the shot at Notre Dame for the BCS Championship. Saban says, despite all the possiblity, Saturday's game is really no different than any other game.

Saban spent some time during the press conference talking up what a good team Georgia is. He says Bulldogs Aaron Murray and Todd Gurley have been fantastic all year long and adds that the whole of the Georgia defense is a formidable challenge for the Tide.

"They're one of the highest ranked defenses for lots of reasons," said Saban. "…Through the years, Georgia has been one of the toughest teams to prepare for and play against."

Kickoff for the SEC Championship is set for 3 p.m. this Saturday.
