Man accused of killing infant to go before judge

CALERA, AL (WBRC) -

A preliminary hearing will be held for a man accused of killing an infant in Shelby County.

Tremain Gates is expected in court sometime in December, according to the circuit court's office. He is accused of slamming a three-month-old baby into a wall and throwing him on the floor.

This happened at an apartment in Calera back in September. Police say Gates was baby-sitting at the time.

Gates is charged with capital murder.
