Former museum guard indicted on child porn charges

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

A former Birmingham Museum of Art security guard facing child pornography charges has been indicted.

Fifty-three year old Loyd Jeffrey Hitt was a security guard at the museum. Today, a federal grand jury indicted him on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography.

Hitt was arrested in October. According to court records Hitt had ordered pornographic videos and photographs of children, which were sent to the museum. These videos and photographs allegedly contained sexually explicit images of underage boys, according to the affidavit.

If he is convincted, Hitt faces 20 years in prison and a $250,000 dollar fine.
