Sewer treatment facility to not be included in new Hoover neighb

A sewer treatment facility will not be included in a new Hoover neighborhood. The CEO of the developer Signature Homes says he made the decision after meeting with concerned homeowners on Tuesday night.

He met with residents from the Chestnut Ridge neighborhood to show them the two options. The first was already approved by the planning commission, but the second option included a sewer treatment facility.

The option with the sewer treatment facility would have offered double the amount of greenspace and other neighborhood improvements. Neighbors voted to stick with the original plan.

Signature Homes says it has successfully developed three other neighborhoods with treatment facilities. They will continue with the project as planned, building close to 500 homes in the Lake Wilborn subdivision, which is the next phase in the trace crossings community.
