Decatur native Rolando McClain will be released from the Oakland Raiders, according to ESPN.
McClain posted on his Facebook Wednesday that he's "officially no longer an Oakland Raider," then later added "Well technically I am, but mentally done, just waiting on my papers, I'd like to be anywhere else but here."
The post has since been deleted.
Zak Gilbert, director of media relations for the Oakland Raiders, said McClain did not practice but is still on the 53 man roster.
ESPN reported that McClain will be dismissed Thursday.
McClain was charged with assaulting a man at a Decatur resident and firing a gun close to the man's head in December of 2011.
He was booked on assault, menacing, reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm inside the city limits.
Charges were later dropped.
