The official lighting of Hoover's Christmas tree is tonight, and will affect some operations in that area today.
The ceremony will take place in front of the City Hall at 5 p.m. In preparation, the Hoover Library will be closed all day. Municipal Lane in front of the library and City Hall will close at 4 p.m. today.
Santa will be at the tree lighting ceremony tonight, making a grand entrance on a fire truck. He will also be available for free pictures, according to Hoover Library's website.
