Clemson's Jennings to miss South Carolina game

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Clemson forward Milton Jennings won't play against South Carolina on Sunday, but Tigers coach Brad Brownell has decided not to kick him off the team.

Jennings was suspended for the third time in 13 months after he was arrested Wednesday on a charge of possession of one ounce or less of marijuana.

Brownell said Friday that Jennings was upset with his mistake and has made a lot of progress at Clemson. The coach says the senior is close to graduating and deserves a chance to finish his college career in a positive manner.

In a statement, Jennings apologized to his family, coaches, teammates and the university and called the arrest the biggest mistake of his life.

Brownell says Jennings will return for Clemson's Dec. 8 game against Arizona.
