Happening today, Jefferson County heads to federal court in a discrimination trial focused on hiring practices.
The county will be in court where a judge will decide whether they are holding up its end of a deal with the federal government struck back in 1982.
Jefferson County promised thirty years ago to do better in diversifying its workforce, but some plaintiffs claim it hasn't gone far enough. The trial starts today in federal court.
