This year it will be held Dec. 5-7 from 6:45 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. at the church, which is located near the Acton Road exit off of I-459.
The Walk Through Nativity features 13 live scenes in which costumed actors depict the birth and life of Jesus Christ. The Nativity also includes 22 live animals and a petting zoo for kids.
Admission is free, and the church also offers free hot chocolate coffee and cookies at the end of the walk. Organizers say you can complete the walk in as little as 20 minutes, or spend an hour going through the walk.
The church's communications director says the church began holding the Walk Through Nativity in 1993. Last year around 6,000 people went to the live Nativity scene.
The church is located at 2200 Briarwood Way in Birmingham. For more details, visit http://briarwood.org/special-events/walk-through-nativity/
