The future's looking bright for Red Mountain Park.
A national consultant is in town meeting with park volunteers and community partners to talk about a five year plan for the land.
They talked about ways to invest in green space by figuring out ways to come up with future phases for the park. Officials say Red Mountain Park is an extension of the community.
"We want to make this park a huge blessing. The future for Birmingham involves Red Mountain Park," Executive Director of Red Mountain Park David Dionne said.
Red Mountain Park covers 12 hundred acres. It's four and a half miles long and one mile wide and offers several walking and biking trails, in addition to a zip line.
