
David Morrison was a well-known Homewood businessman who owned Dave's Pizza. Source: WBRC videoVestavia Hills police confirmed today that the death investigation involving a man and woman found inside a home Wednesday was a murder-suicide.
Police say David Morrison, owner of Dave's Pizza in Homewood, shot his mother, Annie Lee Bamberg Greenway, before turning the gun on himself.
Officers found Morrison, 59, and Greenway, 96, with apparent gunshot wounds inside a bedroom of a house in the 200 block of Montclaire Circle. Police responded to the home around 9:22 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 after getting a 911 call. The Vestavia Hills Fire Department pronounced Morrison and Greenway dead.
After hearing the news of the deaths, several family members and neighbors arrived to the scene, visibly distraught. Long-time customers of Dave's Pizza also expressed shock at the news. Words of condolence have started to come in to the Dave's Pizza Facebook page.
The Vestavia Hills police department included condelences to the family in their press release confirming the murder-suicide.
"The City of Vestavia Hills expresses their sincerest sympathy to family of the deceased," Police Chief Dan Rary said in the release.
