Hoover and Vestavia may work together on Hwy 31 development

Since Highway 31 runs right through the heart of Vestavia Hills and Hoover, some people are asking if both cities should work together to keep the corridor going strong.

One Hoover city councilman wants to explore the possibility of parterning with Vestavia Hills on a development project. Councilman John Lyda says he wants to talk with Vestavia city leaders about their plans that are already in the works. Lyda feels Hoover is already a vibrant community and wants to make sure it stays that way for years to come.

"I'm very confident with their ability and our ability as a council to take a closer look at that plan and see where it meshes with Vestavia and see where we go from here," said Lyda.

Vestavia Hills City Manager Randy Robertson says city leaders there and citizens of Vestavia Hills welcome the opportunity to work with Hoover on any mutually beneficial project.
