Birmingham Police investigating overnight shooting

Breaking News...Birmingham Police are investigating a fatal shooting.

The incident happened at approximately 12:50 a.m. in the 200 block of 2^nd Avenue Southwest.    

The victim's identity will be released pending notification of immediate family.

Officers arrived on the scene to find the victim lying on the sidewalk suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue crews pronounced the victim dead on the scene.

No arrest have been made in this case. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
