
The state department of transportation will shut down a southbound lane of U.S. 31 in Kimberly on Wednesday to do a bridge inspection.
ALDOT released the following details about the planned lane closure and inspection:
KIMBERLY – Weather permitting, on Wednesday, December 12, at 9 a.m., the Alabama Department of Transportation will conduct a bridge inspection on the southbound US-31 Bridge over the Locust Fork of the Warrior River (milepost 294.0). This bridge is located just south of the City of Warrior.
This inspection will require the US-31 southbound inside (left) lane and shoulder to be closed in the area of the inspection.
All travel lanes will be reopened to traffic no later than 3 p.m.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Maintenance Operation to improve Alabama's roadways.
