Members of a Birmingham community who are worried about a possible new rail line in their neighborhoods will have to wait a little longer to find out if it will happen.
The city council delayed a vote on the controversial plan for at least three weeks. A vote was supposed to happen yesterday.
At issue is a new track and overpass in the Mason City and Powderly Area. Neighbors against the project, fear it will increase noise and vibrations. CSX says it will help cut down on rail congestion and lead to fewer trains coming through the area.
