It takes a lot for a day to be bigger than Christmas for a 12-year-old, but Kiam Moriya has a worthy contender.
"Christmas is every year. This isn't very often," Kiam said.
As a matter of fact, "this" will only happen once in Kiam's life. On the 12th day of the 12 month of 2012, Kiam will turn 12 at 12:12 p.m.
"I've been getting so many happy birthdays from people I don't know and I've never been this popular before," he said.
Kiam's mother, Tamara Moriya, has been getting calls not only from across the country but around the world.
"I've been getting calls from Australia, news papers in England, and all these different television shows.
Tamara says the whole 12 thing wasn't supposed to happen. Kiam was scheduled to be born in February near Valentine's days.
"He was 8 weeks early. We went in at 9 the night before, not at all thinking about the numbers," she said.
As fate would have it the numbers aligned and Kiam has become one popular kid.
"I'll be walking around my school and they'll be like we have a celebrity here," Kiam said.
Along with a nationally televised interview in the morning, Kiam plans to have a big day at school.
"My classmates are planning something. I don't know what," Kiam said
In lieu of cake, which Kiam isn't a fan of, there will be donuts.
"The nearby Krispy Kreme is donating 200," Kiam said.
As for next year and every birthday after, Tamara is hoping things will be a little more low key.
"Hopefully everything goes back to normal. Hopefully 12/13 we go back to regular life," Tamara said.
For his birthday Kiam received a new seat and wheels for his bicycle.
