Here is what you saw on Good Day Alabama for December 14, 2012:
BBJ
- Mike talked with Ryan Poe from the Birmingham Business Journal about
local headlines. They discussed how a $10 million residential community
slated for Woodlawn could jump start similar projects in some of
Birmingham's most blighted neighborhoods; what plans are in place to
resolve parking issues in the Parkside district near Railroad Park; and
which businesses are being renovated and filling empty spaces in Five
Points South. For more on these and other business stories, visit www.birminghambusinessjournal.com.
JEH
JEH - Jeh Jeh joined us this morning to talk about The Lettermen of the
Iron Bowl. Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 4:00 p.m., former teammates
and rivals, The Lettermen of the Iron Bowl©, have partnered with The
Firehouse Shelter to join forces and serve a hot meal to those in need.
The Lettermen of the Iron Bowl© is a non-profit organization that unites
former University of Alabama and Auburn University football lettermen.
Our two-fold mission is to reach out to both veterans and the homeless.
We want to reach out to those in need who've cheered us on for so many
years. One in five veterans from the Gulf Wars are homeless, so if we
work with all the homeless, we can help to eradicate homeless veterans.
We've teamed-up with Firehouse Shelter to provide much need support and
services to the men seeking assistance from them. And, to honor our
wounded veterans at their homecoming, we've created Autographs for
Heroes©. As an injured veteran arrives home, we present him with an
autographed football signed by members of their home team. It's a small
token of appreciation for what these men have given to their country.
This program is about gridiron heroes honoring the real heroes.
