(video source WBRC)Two people were shot and killed late Friday night at a nightclub in Hoover in an incident described by investigators as "not a random act."
Hoover Capt. Jim Coker said the shootings happened near midnight at Martini's Lounge. Coker said a man walked into the club, approached the victims - one male and one female, and shot them. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Coker identified the victims as Monterio Alonzo Peebles-Kellogg, 19, of Birmingham, and Lakenya Chaniese Moton, 20, of Birmingham.
A second female from Pinson was later treated at UAB Hospital for an unknown injury described as "non life-threatening."
Capt. Coker said the shooting suspect then fled the scene, but was captured by U.S. Marshals in Birmingham around 7 a.m. Saturday. Investigators were questioning the suspect late Saturday morning.
