The suspect, Wesley Adam Whitworth, faces three charges of illegally possessing a credit/debit card, two charges of third degree burglary and one charge of attempting to elude law enforcement.
Pelham's SWAT team helped arrest Whitworth on a warrant out of Homewood. Police say when they arrived, Whitworth barricaded himself inside a townhome. He then moved through the attics of multiple units connected under the same roof before getting arrested.
The incident happened in the Cottage Circle neighborhood just off of Highway 261. Officers took Whitworth into custody on Monday, Dec. 17.
