TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office says they have arrested a suspect in connection to a fatal shooting that took place on Monday night.

According to deputies, they received a call of a shooting at a residence at 20180 Highway 216 just after 10 p.m. At the scene, they found deceased 39-year-old George Boyd in the floor of the living area with a gunshot wound to the chest. Suspect 41-year-old Jason Lane Johnson was not on the scene when deputies arrived.

According to witnesses, the suspect and victim had been arguing over a female when the suspect retrieved a gun and shot the victim in the chest. The suspect then fled the scene. He was later spotted in the Lake View area and taken into custody.

Johnson is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
