A different Cooper Green with a different name is back open. It is now known as Cooper Green Mercy Urgent Care.
At midnight, Jefferson County surrendered the hospital's license. It is now evolving from an inpatient facility into an urgent and primary care operation. Patients admitted to the hospital have been discharged or transferred to other area hospitals.
The changes have been met with opposition.
