TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

A Tuscaloosa community group called "Community Unity" is holding a rally against youth violence on Wednesday night.

They call it a "Take 30" rally and it is in response to three recent shootings. Organizers say they want teenagers to take 30 seconds to stop and think before they commit an act of violence.

On Sunday morning, someone shot and killed 18-year-old Labarron Rice outside of Club Secret. Police believe two groups are behind the murder, which they think is also connected to shootings at a gas station and at a house.

"You have to approach situations like this at multiple levels. You have to rally the parents. You have to reach the individuals who are participating in the violence," said Kerri Ash with Community Unity.

The Take 30 rally will be held tonight from 7 to 10 p.m. at Archibald and Woodrow's BBQ on Highway 82 near Superskate.
