
When Jefferson County teachers and administrators return to class this year, they'll be better prepared to deal with a potential gunman.
The teachers and staff took part in a special training class Wednesday. Exercises included life-like encounters with an armed person. Teachers say it was scary to go through, but say they learned some good information.
School officials say the "active shooter" training was planned before the Sandy Hook school tragedy.
