HOOVER, AL (WBRC) -
The Hoover Police Department continues to investigate a shooting incident in the Ross Bridge community.
Residents tell FOX6 News the incident took place about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday night and Hoover Police Captain Jim Coker confirms that the shooting occurred between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. The shots were heard in the Chalybe Drive section of Ross Bridge. Some say they heard tires screeching at the same time.
Captain Coker adds that a female victim reports that a male fired a handgun at her car but there were no injuries. He says that detectives do not believe "the victim was randomly targeted."
Homeowners did not go on camera with FOX6, but all said they were shocked at gunfire in their neighborhood.
The incident has spread on social media, but the Hoover Police Departments wants to be very thorough in their investigation and checking with the alleged victim and all leads in the case.
Homeowners say they have not seen regular patrols in the area, leading them to believe this was just an isolated incident.
