Tuscaloosa wreck blocks I-59 Westbound

BIRMINGHMAM, AL (WBRC) - A tractor trailor accident in Tuscaloosa has blocked all lanes of interstate 20/59 Westbound near the McFarland Blvd. exit.

The State Troopers office tells FOX6 the 18-wheeler hit a sign that stretches across the highway knocking it down and completely blocking all westbound traffic. The driver was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials say the traffic will be stopped until a crane can be brought in to remove the sign.
