Pasta Bolognese

Chef Trent Bissell of Whole Food's Pasta Bolognese

1 yellow onion diced
½ bunch celery diced
3 medium carrots diced
4 cloves garlic minced
1 lb. ground beef
7 ounces Hearty Red wine
Thyme to taste
Oregano to taste
20 ounces canned diced tomato
3 ounces tomato paste
2 ounces cream
1 package pasta
4 ounces parmesan

Sauté your onion, celery and carrot until it is a nice brown color in the pan, next sauté your ground beef and garlic with the veggies and season with salt and pepper. Once the beef is browned deglaze the pan with the red wine, reduce the wine by half and add in your tomato product and herbs, let the sauce simmer for 45 minutes to an hour. Once sauce is done simmering, add the cream and mix into the sauce and toss with the pasta. Add a little parmesan on top and enjoy!
