Police identify man in Birmingham's latest homicide

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham police have identified the body of a man found dead inside a car in the city's latest homicide.

The victim is James Burke McConnell, a 44-year-old man from Trenton, Georgia. His body was discovered in a vehicle Monday morning.

According to Birmingham Police, the death happened just before 9 a.m. in the 1100 block of 3rd Avenue West Alley.

Sgt. Johnny Williams says a suspect has been taken into custody in connection to the case.
