SHELBY COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

A Westover man has been charged with domestic violence after he allegedly cut his relative across the chest with a razor blade.

Shelby County deputies responded to a home in the 100 block of Pickens Drive on a report of domestic violence on Friday, Jan. 11 around 8 p.m.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office says relatives Barry Scott Vick, 41, and Joshua Henderson, 30, both of Westover, got into a fight. Vick is accused of cutting Henderson across his chest with a razor blade during the incident. Both men were treated for their injuries at the scene and taken to the hospital for further treatment.

Based on their follow up investigation, Shelby County officials arrested and charged Vick with first degree domestic violence. He is being held in the Shelby County Jail on no bond at this time.

Henderson has been released from the hospital and is recovering, according to the sheriff's office.
