Wintry weather is causing hazardous driving conditions across the Tennessee Valley.
Many people across North Alabama reported sitting in traffic on I-65 on Thursday for nearly nine hours, at times barely moving.
116 stranded motorists had to spend the night at the Civic Center, which was converted into a Red Cross Shelter.
As of Friday morning, northbound lanes were open but moving slowly. Multiple wrecks on I-65 have caused slow traffic. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible.
Meanwhile, numerous school systems across North Alabama delayed or even canceled school on Friday.
